2nd Year Meisner Technique

The Second Year encompasses and builds upon the skills attained in the first year work. If the first year is about finding the truth of you in an imaginary circumstance, then Year Two is about creating characters different from yourself, and having them be just as honest, impulsive and interesting.

Sanford Meisner believed that good acting should reveal the humanity in every character. In Year Two you will learn how characters with very different points of view, values, backgrounds and/or physicality than your own can be melded with your own humanity. You will learn how to justify instead of judge their choices, and find within them the universal truths that will bring them to life.
Year two also adds script analysis, voice and language work, and scene study to the curriculum.

This class meets twice a week.

Classes are 3-4 hours and outside of class rehearsals are required.
