Exploring Technique class offers valuable exercises from various techniques as well as performance experience to develop a strong acting foundation. This overview class puts what we consider four major skill sets to work.

Exploring Technique is designed to expose new actors to the way actors train, get them out of their heads and into their bodies so they can explore this creative form.

The Character in Performance class gives acting students a foundation in creating truthful, dynamic characters for film, television, or stage. It teaches techniques that find the character’s voice, physicality, and psychology. Students work on strengthening their vocal and physical presence, creating characters that are believable yet completely different from themselves. Through exercises, script analyses, monologue and scene work, students acquire a comprehensive set of “acting tools” to draw upon when approaching a role.

While remaining grounded in Meisner's core principles of truthful behavior, emotional responsiveness, and working moment to moment, this innovative training sequence uses scene study and improvisational exercises to explore Point of View shifts. Actors learn how to research and rehearse a character’s world view so that they can transform into someone completely different while remaining truthful and emotionally alive.
