The Los Angeles Acting Training Studio – EMAS, was founded in 2001, in the heart of Hollywood. Our central location was strategically selected to make it convenient for actors from the Westside to Pasadena, from Woodland Hills to Long Beach to get the best acting training Los Angeles has to offer. Now located on bustling Melrose Avenue, it is surrounded by studios and theatres and is a vibrant part of Los Angeles’ acting core.
To add up the numbers, EMAS has over a decade’s worth of experience training actors in Los Angeles, and even more for the lead acting coach, Elizabeth Mestnik, who has been working professionally as an actor, director and teacher since 1992. Ms. Mestnik moved to Los Angeles from New York City after receiving her Masters Degree in Acting from Mason Gross School of the Arts, where she studied The Meisner Technique with William Esper and Maggie Flanigan.
EMAS is one of the most respected acting training programs in Los Angeles. The studio is also supported by NBC’s Talent Development Initiative. Techniques are adapted from the teachings of Sanford Meisner, William Esper and Maggie Flanigan.. William Esper has lauded Elizabeth as a teacher saying “Elizabeth is a first rate and versatile teacher. I cannot say enough good things about her.”
Why Study Acting?
The first steps towards a career as an actor starts in an acting class. You need to learn how to act. Too many actors in Los Angeles think it’s who you know not what you know. What they have failed to calculate is just how expensive it is to produce a television show or film in Los Angeles. If you do not know what you are doing when you arrive on set, you will cost the production a lot of money in re-takes. You need to remember that although networking is important, what happens after you close a deal? Will you live up to a director’s expectations, or fall short due to the lack of training? Remember – if you want a producer or director to invest in you, you need to invest in the best Acting Training out there. Many in the industry believe that is at The Elizabeth Mestnik Acting Studio is THE place to go for that training.
